The Huronia Festival of Arts and Crafts is one of the largest Arts and Crafts shows in Canada.

Presented by the Barrie Art Club and Kiwanis Club of Barrie, the show features over 350 artisans and craftspeople who are carefully selected to ensure the Festival meets the high standards set for 41 years.

This year there are over 40 new exhibitors juried into the Festival.

Proceeds raised are dedicated to community arts programs in the form of scholarships, donations for related material, training opportunities, demonstrations, exhibitions and gallery privileges.

Fun and Excitement on Kempenfelt Bay Aug 26-27, 2011

The Barrie Dragon Boat Festival is a summer event that promotes community spirit and unity. Objective of a Dragon Boat Festival is to strengthen community spirit, providing an opportunity for citizens to demonstrate their organizational talent and resources in hosting a major recreational and cultural event. The 2011 Barrie Dragon Boat Festival, in support of Barrie Public Library and other local charities took place on Saturday, August 27, 2011.

Used as the extension fingers to the existing Government Docks located on the north shore of Kempenfelt Bay in Barrie’s Heritage Park waterfront. This allows the very long dragon boats to neatly park along the docks sides allowing for safe transition of the team members to jump from the boat to the dock and back.

 Kempenfest 2011 is over. What a great weekend we enjoyed in Barrie. It was a very hot 3 days! Good thing we have the large Tier-1 Products tents to keep the sun off our backs. There was an incredible turnout this year with more than 200 thousand people attending. We can’t thank everyone enough for the continuous stream of compliments that we received from visitors adoring our beautiful Laser Cut Metal Art and Lightweight Aluminum Docks: PLATFORMS+
